Upon entering the front door of the Lounge from outside our Hale, you enter the Kapu Gardens. This is actually black light, not blue- used in a 'intermediary space' way similar to the Kahiki. There are 'giant clam' shells, and plants here in this first entry area. Above the clamshells are Tabu Tomes- the Tiki and Grog books.

To the right of the plant, you step up slightly and find a wooden trunk covered with Coco Joes, an a Kahiki Tribute above.

Here is a view from the right of the trunk looking back towards the back of the entry area. Overhead is fishnet, Chinese laterns, and Fake Palm trees. Orchids surround the Kahiki poster, and exotic flowers 'grow' from the rattan pots the palms appear be potted in.

Behind this screen is a small table closer to a kitchen area for serving tasty tidbits to guests. You'll see some items from that area latter in the tour. Throughout the Kapu Gardens, a rainforest jungle soundtrack plays, ensuring an 'outdoorsy' feeling.

Turn to the right from the trunk and the entrance to the Lounge appears. There are potted palms and other plants 'growing near the doorway. It has a thatch roof, and a shell curtain entryway. Inside softly glowing lights can be seen.

To the right of the bar is a small seating area.

In the back left corner you might just be able to make out the Tiki with the Leopardskin fez.

I kind of like the way the blue ball lamp reflects in the window, making it appear there must be a blue moon outside.

This is a good picture of the table with four wedge shaped stools that slide out from underneath. Also note the bright orange 'flame' motion lamp in the windowsill that I enventually hope to turn into a Volcano... .

The small light on the other side of the puupuu platter says 'Tiki Lounge'. Up and to the right, a TikiZone Tiki looks on.

Another good picture of the table. This is it in its lowest position, it has 3; turning into a good dining set in its highest position.

Above the seating area are two Bamboo Ben Tikis and the Tiki Central plaque carved by Gecko, each have been given leis.

This is a bit closer in on the corner table, it has a hula dashboard dancer, a turtle ashtray from Bermuda, and a table card from the Luau in Miami Beach advertising their hurricane glasses.

The plastic 'tapa' wallpaper was a short term solution as we prepared for the first ever Night of the Seven Pleasures. It's scheduled to be replaced as soon as time permits.

This is looking from near the bar out towards the Kapu Gardens. There's still a lot of work to be done on the walls.

This is a little closer in on some of the mugs. On the top left shelf are mugs from Kahiki, to the right are other 'field collected' mugs from Honolulu, what used to be Baltimore's Hawai'ian Room, etc.

Here's closer in on how Gecko's carving is lit and the nice red float next to it. That white ceiling's still gotta go.

On the wall is one of the two TikiZone carvings that guard the sides of the bar. At the front of the mugshelves on top is one of two 'doorhandles' from Oceanic Arts- they watch over the Lounge from their perches.

The pufferfish and a float. Here you can see how the four floats near the edges of the room sometimes get 'backlit' but the recessed lighting, making them glow from within slightly.

The barstools. As you can see, both the bar and the table have white tops. I thought about redoing them, but I find I'm actually enjoying how the colored lights play across them so for now I'm leaving them be.

The back lefthand corner of the bar. Eventually, the white book/mugcases will be fixed to work with the rest of the Lounge, for now though, they are just practical, holding an assortment of mugs and bowls- there is thatch on top, though- which adds to the feeling of being inside a tribal hut.

This is in the front lefthand corner as you enter the Lounge. These white bookcases are currently covered in Hawai'ian fabrics until they've been redone. The bookcases hug the left sides of the Lounge in a giant "L" shape, and have a Heywood Wakefield loveseat and 3 piece sectional in front of them- providing most of the seating in the lounge. The top shelf all the way around holds mugs, and the entire thing has thatch on top.

This red light sits in the corner. Below it sits one of two Hey-Wake tables with menus, postcards, and other treasures from Tiki sites across the country.

Here, you can just barely see some of the mugs peeking out from beneath the thatch.
