Home to Tiki Oasis, the Caliente Tropics is not to be missed! Truely one of the best preserved Tiki Paradises we have left. The joint has a history- and that's a good thing!

Highlight for Album: Haleiwa Joe's seafood grill. Ranch Mirage, CA
Album: Haleiwa Joe's seafood grill. Ranch Mirage, CA

The only mainland U.S. Haleiwa Joe's location, just outside Palm Springs in Rancho Mirage. The building is an architectural masterpiece, inside full of exposed wood and glass. Not so much Tiki, per se- but with their own version of a Mai Tai and other exotic drinks, excellent food, and soft Hawai'ian music, I highly recommend it! Some nights they feature Hula dancers and musicians! This album also includes some really lousy low light cell phone camera pix- please forgive the less than optimal equipment. Album: The Tropics Motor Hotel, Indio, CA

A an impoverished stepchild of the Tropics hotel line built by Ken Kimes. (I can just hear it crying now, "Mo-om! Caliente got all the good Tikis!")Indio's Tropics boasts little more than excellent neon at night.
