The Shalimar is actually a really great example of how to do things right, of course doing it right takes the big bucks, not exactly a mom and pop proposition. But I guess preserving, improving in the spirit of that which was, and maintianing them is better than loosing them any day. The convention space- a rarity as these hotels go is a new addition in keeping with the rest of the design.

The marriage of old and new here works for me! This wonder has been brought to new life by the same architects who worked on the Starlux.

New and old blend and attention to detail in design is paramount.
