While out in SF, we had the opportunity to spend a special evening with an old friend at the new Trader Vic's in downtown San Francisco. There's plenty of Tiki in this recently opened treasure. Plenty of Rums showcased, too! I've left the overlapping pictures of the rums in this set in case viewers want to try to identify individual bottles- eventually, we'll rework some of the overlapping pix into "stitched" mosaics, (where many pictures are joined into a single image).

The Tiki Gods smiled down on us and through some other kind soul stepping aside, we gained the two outdoor Tiki poles from the Honolulu auction. This is the photographic record of some determined Tiki preservationists set on saving the Tikis. ....... A word of caution though; this album also contains pictures of the emptied out restaurant's shell- and can be disturbing.

Some of our Fraternal Order of the Moai extended Ohana were down from New England for a very special evening. Now just a shell, Key West's Hukilau slowly rots in the Florida Sun. But its Tiki still greets visitors along route one, and definite evidence of Tikidom remains.

A holiday excursion to Trader Vic's Atlanta- one of the most wonderful- and intact- Tiki palaces we've toured yet! Neither words, nor pictures can express the intricate beauty that is one of our most treasured surviving temples.
